We shared coffee and cakes in one of the most atmospherically rich bakeries I had ever seen. We did our best to avoid attention and not disrupt scenes that presented themselves, but my presence was a constant impediment. I felt completely at ease and welcomed by these artists and did what I could to make my own images, while at the same time admiring their photographic abilities and deep understanding of their city.

It was a master class of street photography in Addis Ababa, and I'll be forever grateful for the generosity of two talented and creative individuals.
